A dancing duo will take a step back in time as they bring some 1940s flair to the Dancing Strictly contest.
Bob Holford, 68, and Moira Hamill, 57, will be dressed to the nines as they perform a lively jive to the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy at this month’s North London Hospice contest.
Moira, a promotional marketer from New Southgate, said: “We want to put on a bit of a show. We were really keen to have some musicality and do something a bit different to everyone else.
“Hopefully we’ll stand out – but at the end of the day the real winner will be the hospice. It’s a local charity and a really good cause.”
All money raised by the concert at Millfield Theatre on Saturday, February 22 will go to the hospice, which supports people with life-limiting illnesses.
Bob, who took up dancing five years ago to get fit after open-heart surgery for a quadruple bypass, said: “We want to raise as much as we can – the hospice does wonderful work and is much appreciated.
“I think it will be a really good contest. We’re doing a lively piece which is quite fast so we have had to practice and practice and practice. It’s a really good routine which will hopefully go with a sparkle.”
The couple will compete against eight other hopefuls for their chance to be crowned 2014’s Dancing Strictly winners.
Bob and Moira have already raised more than £500 for the hospice, but are keen to raise much more.
