Young police cadets from Hertsmere have returned from their annual adventure week on the Isle of Wight.
The teenagers, from Potters Bar, Bushey, Borehamwood and Radlett, quenched their thirst for adventure by trying out activities including kayaking, abseiling, quad biking and fencing.
The five-day visit to the Little Canada Education and Adventure Camp gave the team a chance to work on team building skills and have some fun.
President of the volunteer police cadets Councillor John Donne said: “Each summer, the leaders choose a different location for camp so the cadets can try their hand at new challenges and activities.
“They not only get to try new things, but they also get to know more about each other and themselves.
“Summer camp enables the cadets to push their potential and surprise themselves with what they can achieve. It is an experience which for many will stay with them for the rest of their lives.”
The group of about 30 meets every fortnight at Meryfield Community Primary School in Borehamwood.
Meetings start again in September. To become a cadet or to find out more go to www.hvpc.org.uk
