A music festival at Mill Hill Rugby Club will not go ahead after the organiser failed to attend a licence hearing for the event.
Cambel McLaughlin had asked the club for permission to host ‘CamFest’ at the Champions Way venue and applied to Barnet Council for a temporary licence.
Mill Hill RFC asked Mr McLaughlin to provide the appropriate risk assessments and licence but at an application hearing at Barnet Council on Tuesday, he failed to turn up.
Members of the council's licensing committee assessed the application in his absence but rejected it on the grounds that minimal security arrangements had been put in place and no risk assessment had been carried out.
