Walkers are being encouraged to sign up for a seven-mile hike in aid of North London Hospice.
The Twilight Walk will start at Finchley Rugby Club in Summers Lane at 6pm on Saturday, September 21, with a ceremony at the half-way point to light a candle in celebration of someone special.
Shoppers visiting Brent Cross today can sign-up from 11am outside Marks & Spencer where the hospice fundraising team will be on hand to answer questions.
Robin Langrishe, director of fundraising at the hospice, said: "This is the first year the hospice has organised such an event and we are all very excited and looking forward to a fantastic evening.
"North London Hospice is locally renowned for providing the best possible care to people during the final stages of their life and we are hoping the community will really get behind this event."
The hospice, which cares for people with a life-limiting illnesses, needs to raise £6.5 million a year with 77 per cent of this needing to be raised through voluntary contributions.
Mr Langrishe added: "This is an opportunity for friends and families to get together, have fun, while making a huge difference to their local hospice."
Walkers will head towards East Finchley, up East End Road and along Regents Park Road before passing North London Hospice, in Woodside Avenue where they can light candles in celebration of loved ones.
Registration costs £20 per person and each participant is required to raise a minimum of £30 sponsorship.
Or registration can be completed by visiting the hospice’s website www.northlondonhospice.org or calling 020 8446 2288.
