Seriously and terminally ill children were treated to a trip to a farm where they enjoyed meeting some four-legged friends.
As part of its year round programme for poorly young people, national children’s charity Starlight organised the trip to Belmont Children’s Farm in Mill Hill.
The farm opened its gates free of charge to the children who had the chance to meet more than 30 types of furry, four-legged and feathered animals.
They stroked rabbits, chicks and ducklings as well as goats, reindeer and alpacas before helping feed the lambs.
The group was also treated to an arts and crafts session and a ride on a tractor through the farmland.
Neil Swan, chief executive of Starlight Children’s Foundation, said: “Starlight aims to bring fun, laughter and distraction to very poorly children and the recent Starlight Escape at Belmont Children’s Farm was one of the highlights of our summer entertainment programme.
“It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces – I can’t thank the team at Belmont Children’s Farm enough for hosting this fabulous event.”
