Elderly people will be getting together to celebrate a new neighbourhood initiative.
Age UK Barnet and The Good Neighbour Scheme for Mill Hill and Burnt Oak will host a community open morning at the Annunciation Church Parish Centre in Thirleby Road next week.
The event is part of Age UK Barnet’s new local services, which provide opportunities for exercise, learning and socialising for older people across the borough.
People aged over 55 will have the chance to practice Tai Chi and brush up on their computer skills during the event.
They will also be treated to healthy food and a demonstration from over 50s dance group the Raunchy Rockers.
Barnet Borough Council's cabinet member for adults Councillor Sachin Rajput said: “I am delighted that the new day services are now becoming a reality.
“These services are intended to reach more people across the borough and meet the changing needs of older people.”
This event in Burnt Oak follows the launch last month of the neighbourhood services in St Agnes Church in Cricklewood.
Chief officer Mark Robinson said: “Age UK Barnet is delighted to have the opportunity to work in partnership with community organisations to deliver much needed services to older people throughout Barnet, in their neighbourhoods and communities."
