Shoppers at a Whetstone supermarket will be invited to donate food to help those in need when a charity runs a collection later this month.
Volunteers from the Chipping Barnet foodbank will be at Waitrose in Whetstone High Road inviting shoppers to buy one extra item for donation.
The charity provides free parcels of food to families and individuals at times of personal financial crisis.
Users of the charity are referred through other organisations including the local authority.
A similar collection held in November helped collect more than 2,000kg of food.
Volunteers from the charity will be at the branch on Saturday July 27 and Sunday July 28.
