A bartender is gearing up to show off his flair for mixing world-class cocktails.
Mohammed Mersai, 34, who works at TGI Friday’s in Mill Hill in Pentavia Retail Park, is competing tomorrow for a place in the UK Bartender Championships.
The mixologist will be taking on some of the top bartenders in the south of England at the regional finals in Croydon.
Mr Mersai will have to impress judges with his skills at juggling and flipping bottles and shakers and entertaining punters while creating the perfect cocktail.
If successful, the Waltham Cross resident will claim one of seven places in the UK finals, which take place at Wembley Stadium in September.
He is then up for a place in the world finals in the United States.
Mr Mersai said: “I’m delighted to be competing in the regional finals and will give it my best shot to try and through to the national competition.
“The event seems to get bigger every year and I’d love the chance to perform my favourite moves and tricks in front of the judges and team mates from all over the country.
“I know that the standard is going to be really high.
"It would be amazing to go all the way and represent the UK on the international stage but I’m concentrating on making it to the UK finals first.”
