Former Hendon MP Andrew Dismore will contest the seat once more after being selected as the Labour candidate in the constituency for the next general election.
The Barnet and Camden Assembly Member won a majority vote among the Hendon Labour Party on Sunday, seeing off Tower Hamlets councillor Cate Tuitt, who also put herself forward.
The pair had been named in the final shortlist before a vote was taken yesterday.
Mr Dismore lost the parliamentary seat in 2010 to Conservative Matthew Offord by a margin of just 106 votes.
The pair have openly stated their dislike for one another and look set to do battle once more, with Mr Offord also expected to be reselected for the general election in 2015.
