A Somalian Islamic community centre has partially collapsed as a result of a fire that police are treating as suspicious.
The London Fire Brigade was called to the Somalian Islamic Bravanese Welfare Centre, in Coppetts Road in Muswell Hill on the border between Barnet and Haringey at 3.14am.
Around 35 firefighters and officers in six fire engines were sent to the scene.
The whole of the two-storey building was damaged by the fire and it also suffered a partial structural collapse.
A woman who lived in a neighbouring property suffered shock and was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service.
The fire was under control by 4.40am and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Abubakar Ali of Mill Hill Somali charity Brit Som, which has close links to the community centre, said: "The Somali community is very distressed by this, we're a peace loving community.
"We're shocked and devestated. I ask everyone in the Somali community to remian calm."
