A teenager was lucky to escape with his life when he was hit by a car on his way home from school this afternoon.
The boy, believed to be a Totteridge Academy pupil, was struck by the vehicle near the war memorial in Totteridge Lane, at the corner with Lime Grove, at 3.40pm.
Police closed the road in both directions but it was reopened at 5pm.
London Ambulance Service sent its air ambulance as well as a single responder vehicle, an ambulance crew and a duty officer to the scene.
The boy was treated for an arm injury and was taken by road to St Mary’s Hospital, accompanied by the on-call doctor.
