Employees at a Finchley-based property group tramped 62 miles last weekend to raise money for a north London hospice.
A team of 14 employees of Crabtree Group in Regent’s Park Way in Finchley Central set off from Richmond last Saturday to walk to Brighton in aid of The North London Hospice, which cares for people with life-limiting illnesses.
Most of the walkers reached the finish line at Brighton race course two days later, with four struggling as far as they could before pulling out because of injury.
A team of six supported the walkers, giving up their bank holiday weekend to make sure they were well looked after.
Crabtree Group managing director Robert Robertson said: “I am very proud to be the managing director of a company that is made up of the kind of people who can work together to achieve such a fantastic result.
“This was a huge team event and our team can claim a huge victory for the individuals taking part, for their individual companies and most importantly for The North London Hospice.”
The team raised £9,465 for the North London Hospice through office raffles, bake sales, auctions, food sales, office sweepstakes and selling football tickets.
Fundraising manager at the North London Hospice Judi Guy said: “The North London Hospice has a very successful partnership with Crabtree and we are very grateful for the funds raised by their employees at this event.
“We are extremely proud and thankful for the tremendous efforts put in by all the walkers. Support like this allows the hospice to continue supporting those suffering from life-limiting illness and their families.”
