Barnet Police has teamed up with police forces in Brent and Camden to tackle anti-social behaviour caused by a group of nuisance drinkers.
A dispersal order covering the part of Barnet, Brent and Camden surrounding Cricklewood Broadway was introduced yesterday after members of the public complained about groups of men congregating around the Mapesbury area of Brent every morning.
The men, believed to be illegal immigrants waiting to get work, intimidate residents, drink alcohol in the street, urinate and dump rubbish illegally.
The dispersal order means Barnet Police will have the power to move on any groups of two or more people in the Barnet part of the dispersal zone, which is bordered by Cricklewood Broadway, Ash Grove, Morton Avenue, Crickelwood Lane and Galsworthy Road.
Acting Superintendent Nicholas Davies of Brent Police said: “This dispersal order is unique in that it covers three boroughs. Our neighbourhood policing teams will work together as will our local authorities to improve the quality of local residents’ lives.”
The dispersal order will be in force until November 26.
