People in Barnet are being invited to meet the GPs in charge of providing NHS services in Barnet.

During the public meeting, which will take place next Thursday at St. Paul’s Centre in Long Lane at 11.00am, GPs on Barnet’s Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will be on hand to answer questions about the new body and hear the views of members of the public on how it should be run.

The focus of the meeting will be on improving how GPs can ensure patients get the right care in the right place in order to avoid unnecessary trips to hospital.

Barnet CCG board member Dr Debbie Frost, who will be leading the discussion about improving care, said: “This is a great opportunity for local people to get more information about their healthcare and understand more about the new GP group responsible for most healthcare in Barnet.

“This month, we also want to talk about how we manage patient care – the very nuts and bolts of making sure people get the right care, in the right place, every time.

“Better care is not only more efficient but is also better value for money so we really want to get this right.

"We can’t do that without the views of patients and hearing more about how they experience their care, so all are welcome.”
