East Finchley high street is in gridlock after the Great North Road was closed this morning because of a burst water main.
Affinity Water engineers are carrying out emergency repairs next to East Finchley Tube station and the closure is in place northbound between the A1 Archway Road and Baronsmere Road.
Traffic approaching the town centre from the north is backed up to the North Circular Road.
Diversions are affecting bus routes 102, 143, 234, 263, 603 and H3.
