Golfers welcomed actress Linda Bellingham to their annual charity tournament to raise money for a dementia day care centre in Hendon yesterday.
The original OXO mum and Loose Women star was the special guest at the Alzheimer's Disease Golf Society tournament held at Dyrham Park Golf Club in Hertfordshire.
The event raised £55,000 for Jewish Care’s Sam Beckman Dementia Day Care Centre in Hendon as well as the Alzheimer’s Society.
The ADGS tournament is the brainchild of Morella Kayman, who instigated this fundraising initiative 31 years ago following the death of her first husband Lawrence Fisher, who was diagnosed with the disease when he was 49 years old.
She said: “I remain committed to raising funds for all those who suffer with Alzheimer’s.”
