A group of friends from Barnet dragged themselves through the mud for one of the UK’s toughest charity challenges.
Nine men and women joined hundreds of daring participants to take on the Tough Mudder in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
The group raised £2,000 for Herts Young Homeless – a charity providing advice and support to young people who find themselves homeless or at risk of homelessness in south Hertfordshire.
The 12-mile Tough Mudder course is designed by the British Special Forces and involves 25 gruelling obstacles designed to test strength, stamina and mental grit.
Participants must overcome obstacles including ice water, electrified fences and small tunnels of mud and water.
All of the cash raised will go towards helping young people to purchase white goods such as cookers or washing machines.
Jennie Rawlings, part of the Barnet nine and marketing manager for HYH said: “It was a gruelling experience but knowing that we were all taking on this challenge to help support young homeless people was good motivation when times got extra tough.”
