A young man who died when he was hit by a train at Potters Bar railway station is not expected to be named until later this week.
British Transport Police confirmed the man, believed to be in his 20s and from Potters Bar, was fatally struck at 12.44am on Sunday at the Darkes Lane station.
Emergency services were called by the driver of the 11.15pm Cambridge to Kings Cross train but the man was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
The victim’s family has been informed and a file is being prepared by the coroner.
Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious and are not expected to name the man until later this week when an inquest will be opened and adjourned for further investigations to take place.
