An Edgware post office is set to undergo a facelift as part of modernisation plans.
Watling Post Office in Burnt Oak Broadway will become a new-style open plan branch after it closes for refurbishment at the end of this month.
The branch will have four new counters, two of which will be open plan, one screened and one providing retail and post office services.
Post Office regional network manager for South & East England Mark Lawrence, said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in this part of Edgware and we are confident this new modern post office will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
He added: “This modernisation is part of a three-year investment programme, which will see around 6000 post offices converting to new-style branches.
“This investment makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
Watling Post Office will close on April 25 at 5.30pm and will reopen on May 3.
During this time, residents are advised to use Deansbrook Post Office in Deansbrook Road or Mollison Way Post Office in South Parade.
