The Metropolitan Police Service and the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime have revealed the plans for a new building, which will replace the existing Peel Centre in Aerodrome Road.
The proposals will be on display at a public exhibition in Building 36, Aerodrome Road, on Thursday March 21 and Saturday March 23.
A previous exhibition showed proposals for the new police facilities alongside an emerging plan for the wider site including proposals for 2,000 new homes and a primary school.
Chief Superintendent Adrian Usher, Borough Commander for Barnet, said: “The Peel Centre is world-renowned for the quality of its training and will play an important role to equip current and future generations of officers with the knowledge and skills to protect Londoners and the capital.
“These plans significantly upgrade the facilities to support 21st century policing, and at the same time provide a catalyst for the revitalisation of the surrounding area.”
It is estimated better use of the space and environmental measures will help save approximately £5million per year in running costs.
Following a consultation with the public, the Metropolitan Police hopes to submit a planning application to Barnet Borough Council in the spring.
