An artist plans to showcase his photographs of key events and landmarks across Finchley to illustrate how “wonderful” the area is.
Michael Duke, 53, has taken 20 photographs, which include a shot of the Olympic Torch being carried through Ballards Lane last summer.
Mr Duke, who lives in North Finchley, has developed the pictures in what he describes as an “artistic, whacky style”.
He said: “I’ve always been focused on journalistic photography and as I’ve been taking pictures around Finchley I thought it would be nice to do something different with them.
“I want to show people Finchley is not a boring hole - it’s a wonderful place. I hope people get a lot of pleasure from seeing the photos.”
Mr Duke, who has been taking photographs since he was just 13 years old, will exhibit his work in a free exhibition at artsdepot in Nether Street, North Finchley. The opening night will take place from 6.30pm to 8pm on Tuesday, October 1 and the pictures will be on display until October 31.
