Law firms will be giving free legal advice on issues such as compensation for accidents and landlord disputes as part of a new initiative set up by Middlesex University.
The university’s law school has set up the Know Your Rights sessions, which will start on Monday March 25 at Hendon Town Hall in The Burroughs.
Principal lecturer in law Dr Susan Scott-Hunt said: “People in the local area are on the doorstep of a thriving university law school with good links to the local legal community.
“We want to use those links to help residents access useful legal advice about the types of disputes that impact on most people at some point and can be confusing and frustrating without clear professional legal guidance.”
At the first session, Brent Street-based Compensation Solicitors Online will be giving a talk and taking questions on holiday claims, accidents in shops, compensation to victims of crime and motor vehicle accidents from 5pm to 7pm.
Places can be booked in advance by emailing s.procter@mdx.ac.uk
