A High Barnet charity is holding a special fundraiser this evening to raise money and awareness for vulnerable women around the world.
The Oxfam shop, in High Street, is hosting a wine and cake evening between 5.30pm and 10pm to mark International Women’s Day.
The branch will be closing for refurbishment for almost three weeks from Sunday and store manager Philippa Sivan is hoping for a big celebration.
She said: “We thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to hold a celebration in the shop to raise money and spread the word.”
The evening is part of Oxfam’s Get Together - hundreds of events taking place around the country to celebrate women and champion gender equality.
All money raised on the evening will go towards Oxfam’s global programmes for empowering women.
