A mother-of-two killed in a suspected road rage hit-and run died from head injuries, a post mortem has revealed.
Christie McHugh, 33, was killed in front of her children when she was flung from the bonnet of another vehicle into a Belisha beacon at a zebra crossing.
The personal assistant apparently became involved in an altercation with another driver near Sainsbury’s, in East Barnet Road, New Barnet, at about 6.40pm on Monday.
She somehow ended up on the front of the other car, which was driven some distance before she was propelled into the metal post.
Passers-by tried to revive Mrs McHugh, whose five-month old daughter and five-year-old son were sat in her car, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem was carried out at Finchley Mortuary yesterday but police say they are still waiting to formally identify her.
A woman has since been arrested in connection with the death and bailed to return to a north London police station in late April.
