Am I alone in being totally confused by the conflicting information being given to the public by representatives of the Brent Cross Cricklewood Partners at their recent mobile exhibition on the regeneration of the area?

I am a Prayle Grove resident who has visited the exhibition several times. The difference in the information I have been given defies belief. On my initial visit, I was told that my property and indeed the whole of Prayle Grove was unaffected by the proposed plans. On my second visit, I was told my property was affected, to the extent that it was earmarked for demolition and the land used for a new Mapledown School. I was also told there was an alternative' plan. However, when I asked for further details, I was told that it was not possible to see it. On my third visit, I was given confirmation of the proposed redevelopment of my home and told there was no alternative plan. Confused? I certainly was.

In order to gain clarification, I contacted Barnet Council's strategic development unit. A senior member of staff told me Prayle Grove falls outside the planned development area and that the council was not expecting any deviation from what was already laid down in the original development framework document.

So where do residents threatened with the loss of their homes go for information? Who do we believe?

Prayle Grove residents have had no prior consultation or warning of the proposals, either from the developers or the council, regarding the possible redevelopment of their properties. The only way I found out was by visiting the exhibition on several occasions. Had I only visited once, I would still be blissfully unaware that my home is under threat? How can this be acceptable?
