Recycling enthusiasts in the borough were invited to enter an unusual competition run by Barnet Council last month. Residents were asked to send in innovative and fun' photos of themselves filling their black recycling boxes, to show how enjoyable the process can be.
The winner of the competition was 24-year-old Craig Johnson, of Sedgemere Avenue, East Finchley, who is shown here with the photo which won the judges over. Craig's message is, of course, that recycling in the borough is so easy you can do it in your sleep.
His prize is £250 worth of environmentally-friendly items of his choice. Goodies on offer will include organic wine, wind-up radios and an eco-kettle.
A council spokesman said: "While we do provide an assisted collection for the elderly and infirm, we cannot guarantee a bedside collection."
