A choir of Olympic volunteers are hoping to sing their way to the top of the charts for charity this Christmas.
Michelle Gabriel of Meadway Close, High Barnet, is among the group of London 2012 Games Makers who have released the single I Wish For You The World.
The 31-year-old volunteered at the Games as a print distributor helping get the event results to the media, before joining the Games Maker Choir.
She said: “I like doing a bit of karaoke so I thought why not have a bit of fun singing in the choir.
"The Games Makers were such an important part of the Olympics so this is a great way to keep the legacy going and encompass that team spirit.”
The group was approached by singer-songwriter and Fame Academy contestant Alistair Griffin who invited them to perform the charity single.
All proceeds from I Wish For You The World will go to the British Olympic Foundation and British Paralympic Association to help aspiring young athletes realise their Olympic and Paralympic dreams.
Miss Gabriel added: “The most important thing is to raise as much money as we can for these charities. We’d love to get to number one and do that.”
The single has the backing of gold medal-winning Olympians and Paralympians as well as Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
