Pupils raised £500 and collected more than 400 tins of food to put on a Christmas party for the elderly.
Year 10 students hosted their annual Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party at Whitefield School in Claremount Road, Brent Cross, last Thursday.
Each form group held their own fundraising events including henna artwork sessions, penalty shoot- out competitions, car washes and a teachers’ blind date to raise cash for the event.
PE staff collected the elderly party-goers from The Meritage, Lansdowne, and Rosa Frieman care homes before dropping them off at the school.
Whitefield Students’ Choir started the evening by singing Christmas songs before a traditional roast turkey dinner was served.
Guests were then treated to games of bingo and name that tune, followed by dancing and singing along to traditional Christmas songs.
