Mill Hill resident Nigel Common is celebrating this week after winning an unusual competition.
Mr Common, of Brockenhurst Gardens, claimed first prize in the Safety Thirst pub quiz which tested the public's knowledge of the Square Mile. Of course, it helped that he is a professional tour guide specialising in trips around the City of London.
The only way to find the clues necessary to answer the questions was to visit pubs and bars around the area. Each venue has a Safety Thirst' license, indicating high standards in general safety, good neighbourhood practices, and crime prevention.
Mr Common, who also holds a blue badge, the highest qualification for guides in England, said: "I answered all the questions in four days. I am good at problem solving."
