Up and coming musical theatre stars from a Borehamwood theatre production company are to feature in a West End charity gala this month, including a young singer and actor from Edgware.
Danny Lane, 18, who was a pupil at the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School in High Barnet, will star in From stage to screen... and back again! , a show of music that has featured on the stage and moved to the silver screen, or that has been in films that moved to the stage. It will feature six solo artists, a narrator, the West End Gospel Choir and a live band. Highlights include music from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Dirty Dancing, Hairspray, Gypsy and South Pacific .
Danny is a member of New Talent Spotlight , a company set up by Russell Scott to find, develop and give opportunity to emerging musical theatre professionals.
“It’s absolutely incredible,” says Danny, “I feel so lucky to be given the opportunity to do something like this before I’ve even started my career.”
Three days after his West End debut, Danny will start at the Guildford School of Acting on a three-year musical theatre course.
