Impressionist Alistair McGowan is returning to his stand–up roots with his new show Not Just a Pretty Voice.
He'll be asking big questions such as: Would the world be a happier place if Ed Milliband was Prime Minister? What are we really thinking while watching Shakespeare? And is Hilary Devey Jessie J’s mum?
Expect to hear everyone from Andy Murray to Colin Murray, riffs on everything from Jeff Stelling to bad spelling and at least one song about butter.
Alistair is best known for his BBC’s BAFTA award-winning The Big Impression and ITV’s sports comedy series You Can Not Be Serious. Alistair has also enjoyed appearances on Live at the Apollo, Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks, A Question Of Sport and The Comedy Annual.
On the radio he is best known for his appearances on Weekending and The Harpoon and was team captain on First Impressions. He also co-wrote and starred in the series of The Game’s Up, a satirical sports show on Radio Five Live.
- Alistair McGowan is at The Ark Theatre, Borehamwood on Saturday, March 16. Details: 020 8238 7288, www.thearktheatre.co.uk
