Hungarian-born Israeli composer Andre Hajdu will perform in Finchley next week.
Part classical, part pop and jazz and always spiritual, his programme Kulmus Hanefesh (The Quill of the Soul) will see him perform with a group of young musicians, mostly his former students, exploring and experimenting with ancient Jewish melodies and texts.
The performance is linked to the first-ever international conference on Musics from Israel, which takes place this month at the University of London, organised by the Jewish Music Institute.
Andre Hajdu and Ha’Oman Hai Ensemble will be at New North London Synagogue, 80 East End Road, Finchley, on Sunday, March 27, at 3pm. Details: 020 8346 8560
