Small, but not lacking in ideas, the Barnet group exhibiting at Herts Open Studios attracts new members year on year. Among the regular participants are atmospheric painter/sculptor Janet Tranter and textile and mixed media artist June Faulkner, who has exhibited her screen printed and hand painted textiles at the annual event for the past ten years.
June says: "I explore texture, ambiguity and abstraction with my camera and through manipulation of my photographic images, drawings and paintings I create versatile, delicate and translucent textiles, paintings and collage.
"I take my camera and sketchbook with me wherever I go recording all sorts of images that later I use in my art."
Along with June and Janet you will find Jenny Leslie, a member of the HVA Textile Group, who specialises is natural dyes and textiles, and likes to work with community projects. Jenny will be demonstrating traditional and contemporary dyeing techniques.

Ioanna says of her work: "I am continuously looking for new techniques and experimenting with new materials, combining them into one piece: fabric, resin, crochet and stitching, beading and sewing."
