A touring exhibition of top UK illustrators is coming to Middlesex University in Hendon as part of a free national show run by the Association of Illustrators (AOI).
Images 36: Best of British Illustration presents the winning work of more than 50 artists from the length and breadth of the UK who entered the AOI’s annual flagship competition. The work has already appeared at Somerset House, and for six weeks will be open to the public at The Grove, Middlesex University’s new art, design, media and performing arts building.
The exhibition features exciting new talent and established names in illustration. It will also see the return of two Middlesex illustration graduates, Shane Noonan and Judy Lumley, who both studied BA Illustration and graduated in 2011.
The gold, silver and bronze award-winners from each of the AOI’s eight competition categories – advertising, books, children’s books, design, new media, editorial, self-promotion and new talent – will all be on display, and to coincide with the exhibition, an accompanying book, Images 36: Best of British Illustration 2012, will be available. The book brings together the shortlisted 350 artworks and profiles from 240 illustrators.
- Images 36: Best of British Illustration is at The Grove, Middlesex University, The Burroughs, Hendon until Sunday, April 7. Details: 020 8411 5555, www.mdx.ac.uk/aboutus/news-events
