With increasing numbers of people starting to consider vegetarianism, or at least a reduction in meat consumption, for health, ethical and environmental reasons, the fourth annual Vegetarian Food Festival in Cricklewood couldn’t be more timely.
Held at the Sadhu Vaswani Centre, the festival aims to show how well you can eat without meat by providing a variety of vegetarian and vegan foods – wrap your taste buds around north and south Indian cuisine, Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, Italian (with egg-free pasta) and Lebanese as well as eggless cakes, smoothies and yoghurt drinks.
There will also be clothes, jewellery and book stalls for you to browse, and games, face-painting and henna, and a raffle, making the festival not only an awareness-raising exercise but also a great day out for the whole family.
Entry is free and all monies raised from the stalls and activities will go towards supporting the homeless in London and providing cataract operations and replacement limbs in India.
The Vegetarian Food Festival takes place at Sadhu Vaswani Centre, Cricklewood Lane, Cricklewood on Sunday, July 15 from 11.30am to 6pm. Details: www.sadhuvaswaniuk.com
