Barnet rejected a £250,000 offer from Premier League side Swansea City for 50-goal striker Matt Stevens last month.
The 17-year-old, who is going into his second year as a scholar with the Bees, scored 57 times last season as Barnet's Under-18s won the Football League Youth Alliance South East division.
A source close to the player has confirmed to the Times Series a bid from Garry Monk's side for Stevens was received and rejected, though it is understood chairman Tony Kleanthous is currently out of the country.
Stevens was signed by the Bees last summer following his release from Reading, that despite netting 32 times for the Royals.
In September he became the youngest player to play for Barnet's first team when he made his debut as a late substitute in the 2-1 win over Alfreton Town at The Hive.
He subsequently scored his first senior goal with a Panenka penalty in a 6-2 defeat against Concord Rangers in the FA Trophy first round in December.
