Wingate & Finchley exited the Ryman League Cup following a 2-0 defeat against Thurrock.
After a goalless opening period, new Fleet signings Daryl McNamara and Callum Ibe both found the net, which was enough to send the Blues out of the competition.
In league action on Saturday, Wingate were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Concord Rangers.
It was the visitors who controlled the majority of the first half.
Tony Stokes came close to connecting with a long throw, while the Blues created a good opening when Daniel Morris scuffed his effort wide.
The best chance of the first 45 minutes, and the match, fell to Concord when Jerome Walker was put through one-on-one with Bobby Smith. The Wingate stopper was quickly off his line to block the effort and the rebound was fired over by Stokes.
In a scrappy second half, few chances were created. Adejayo Osifuwa and Jason Hallet had opportunities for the visitors before Stokes fired over in the closing minutes to leave Wingate 11th in the table.
