THE future of Barnet’s young player of the year is in the balance after striker Jake Hyde was told by the club that his contract will not be renewed, although the final say on the decision will be left to the Bees’ new manager.
Nineteen-year-old Hyde, who scored seven goals in his first season at Underhill after joining from Swindon Town, will be released by the club when his current deal expires at the end of June. However, when a new manager is appointed, he will run the rule over Hyde and decide whether to retain his services or send him packing.
The youngster’s most notable contribution for the Bees last season came when he entered the fray against Notts County in the 90th minute and scored the last-minute winner.
