Ulrich Landvreugd says Edgar Davids “did only good” for Barnet and believes the Bees’ former head coach still has a “big heart” for the club.
Landvreugd and Dick Schreuder have been placed in charge of Barnet following Davids’ departure and they got their joint reign off to the perfect start as the Bees clinched a 1-0 victory against Southport.
The Dutch duo were brought to the club by Davids and Landvreugd was disappointed to see him leave after 15 months with the Bees.
He said: “Edgar put in a really good spell here and the way we play football is the way we were brought up. We’ve carried that on exactly how he did it.
“Of course I was disappointed and I think everybody who is a football fan was disappointed about him leaving a club like Barnet.
"I think he did only good for Barnet Football Club. For me personally, that was also the guy who brought me here and I can only say good things about Edgar.
“He still has a big heart for Barnet and also for the Barnet fans. The first thing I did was text him after the game.”
