The final kick of the game. That’s what Barnet’s match against Lincoln City game down to.

Unfortunately for the Bees it resulted in an equaliser. The game ended 1-1.

The two goals couldn’t have been more different but, as the old cliché goes, they all count.

The majority of the game was instantly forgettable but Keanu Marsh-Brown’s opener was anything but.

The winger evaded two tackles, rounded goalkeeper Paul Farman, skipped past another challenge and then smashed home.

It was a goal that deserved to win any game but in the 95th minute Jon Nolan smashed home to secure a point for the visitors.

It was a game of few clear chances.

Jake Sheridan missed an early opportunity for the visitors as his close range effort narrowly missed the post.

Alan Power then fired over and Barnet struggled to maintain possession as Lincoln pressed the Bees well.

The hosts did begin to threaten and Mark Byrne drilled an effort from distance over the crossbar before Jake Hyde’s snapshot almost caught Lincoln goalkeeper Paul Farman off guard.

In first half stoppage time, the visitors created two good chances to go ahead. Andrew Boyce’s header at the back post was well blocked and Power’s inventive flick just cleared Graham Stack’s crossbar.

The final opportunity of the opening 45 minutes went to the home side. A corner wasn’t cleared and the ball dropped to Luke Gambin.

The diminutive winger was under heavy pressure and was unable to get his near post flick on target.

The second period followed the same pattern as the first and the visitors looked the more likely side to go ahead.

Lincoln felt they should have been awarded a penalty when Ben Tomlinson clashed with David Stephens in the Barnet penalty area. The referee turned the appeals away and proved a pivotal moment.

The Bees countered and quickly moved the ball quickly down the left-flank. A pass inside to Marsh-Brown allowed the winger to skip past a defender and advance on goal.

He held off another challenge before rounding goalkeeper Farman. Instead of shooting from a narrow angle, Marsh-Brown cut back inside – taking another defender out of the game – and then smashed his shot home.

The opening goal didn’t change the pattern of the game however and Lincoln came close from a free-kick as Nat Brown headed over.

In the closing stages Lincoln committed several players forward. Bohan Dixon smashed an effort wide for the visitors but the Bees defence remained resolute.

But in the 95th minute it was breached. A free-kick into the Barnet penalty area dropped to Nolan and he smashed past Stack to seal a point for the Imps.

The Bees return to action on Tuesday as they make the short trip to Aldershot Town.
