Paul Fairclough believes Barnet have made “good value signings” and says Claudiu Vilcu has joined the Bees.
The Romanian centre-back becomes the fourth player to have signed with the club in the last week after Roberto Casabella, Luisma Villa and Marciano Mengerink’s deals were confirmed.
Fairclough is pleased with the additions and believes the squad is now strong enough to compete for promotion in the Skrill Premier.
He said: “We’ve made what we consider to be good value signings. We’ve brought in players from aboard and I didn’t think we would be doing that to be honest.
“But is has been cost effective and we are certainly pleased with those that we have brought in.”
He added: “With all foreign players, and I had this when I worked at Arsenal, there is a period of adjustment. We’ve have done our due diligence and got them in early, so they have settled in now and will be ready for Saturday.”
When asked if Vilcu had been offered a contract, Fairclough replied: "He has accepted an offer and he has signed.”
The Bees director of football also confirmed Barnet have offered a contract to goalkeeper Nick Jupp and are awaiting his decision.
He said: “We like Nick Jupp and we’ve made him an offer which fits in with our pay structure. We’re hoping Nick accepts that but players have certain lifestyles they have to keep and maintain.
“But it is now down to Nick to decide whether he wants to take the opportunity.”
