BARNET'S three MPs are seeking a meeting with the Education Minister in a bid to find ways to help progress school regeneration in the borough.
On Monday Michael Gove announced the scrapping of funding for six rebuilding projects at schools in the borough, prompting criticism from the Labour group.
Now Tory MPs Matthew Offord (Hendon), Mike Freer (Finchley and Golders Green) and Theresa Villiers (Chipping Barnet) say they want a meeting with Mr Gove over the developments.
Mr Offord, a former deputy leader of the council told the Times Series: “The council was always concerned about the way the project was set up and didn't feel it was funded properly.
“We do want to get more funding into schools and we're concerned that for many years Barnet schools have been neglected by the previous government.
“We will be taking it up directly with Michael Gove to see if we can improve the quality of all our schools in Barnet.”
He added there were ideas which would help “not only my constituents, but Barnet as a whole”.
