A GANG of youths from across north and east London wearing Halloweeen masks robbed a Potters Bar teenager on Sunday.
The robbery took place outside Potters Bar Station on Darkes Lane, just after midnight.
The group got off a 298 bus from Southgate and surrounded a 16-year-old boy who was at the train station with two female friends.
The gang demanded his mobile phone and threatened him.
A Hertfordshire Police spokeswoman said: “It looks like he was threatened with an object he believed to be a knife.”
The youths took his mobile phone and then punched him in the stomach.
Police arrested 16 boys nearby soon afterwards. They were all aged between 14 and 17 and had travelled from as far away as Stratford in East London, and from addresses in Edmonton, Southgate, Finsubyr Park, Wood Green and Enfield.
They were all bailed to return on November 13 and 14.
Detectives are appealing to witnesses to the offence. If you have any information call DC Ian Russell on 0845 33 00 222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
