A puppy was savaged to death by a Staffordshire bull terrier in a public park early on Tuesday morning.
A female owner was walking the puppy in Oak Hill Park, in East Barnet, when the attack took place at 6.30am.
The seven-month old pup suffered severe injuries and had to be later put down by a vet.
Police are investigating the incident but are unlikely to take action as it was a dog-on-dog attack.
It is thought the larger dog was not on a lead when the puppy was mauled.
