A FREE art exhibition will pay homage to the Olympic Games this month.

Art collector Peter Constant plans to display works by Greek artist Vasilis Zenetzis who painted scenes of Athens during the Olympics of 2004.

The oil paintings show the Parthenon, a temple dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena which sits high on the Acropolis, as well as Olympic fans visiting Athens’ ancient ruins.

Mr Constant said: “I wanted to do something to celebrate the Olympic Games coming to London in 2012 and this exhibition is a great way to do that.

“Zenetzis immortalised the City of Athens in a frenzy of non-stop painting over seventeen days, thus creating history on his own and for the future generations to admire.”

The art work will be on display at the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood Centre in Britannia Road, North Finchley from 7pm to 9pm on November 14. It will remain open to the public between midday and 9pm every day until November 27.
