A DOCUMENTARY highlighting a Golders Green family's fight for justice over the death of their son in Germany will be broadcast tomorrow.
Film crews followed Erica Duggan's pursuit of answers into her son Jeremiah's death in Wiesbaden in 2003.
Poignantly, the programme shows Mrs Duggan's visit to the region last year and to the motorway scene where her son's body was found.
Controversy still remains around how Jeremiah died, with British coroners dismissing a German inquest which ruled the 22-year-old had killed himself by running in front of two cars on the carriageway.
Mrs Duggan remains convinced her son died as a result of being beaten by members of a right-wing, anti-Semitic cult LaRouche, and hopes the Cutting Edge documentary will put pressure of politicians to look at the dossier of evidence she has collated.
She said: “The main thing is to raise all those unanswered questions. We have tried everything through the legal channels to get the answers to what happened.
“There seems to be an unwillingness from the German authorities to pursue justice. This hopefully shows the German authorities will have to think again.
“It is a very shocking depiction of our struggle and the situation we are in.”
Saturday marked the seventh anniversary of Jeremiah's death, and Mrs Duggan hopes her case will soon be heard before the High Court after being granted permission to apply for a new inquest by the Attorney General, in January.
Mrs Dugan said: “It was nearly a year ago since the filming was carried out, and a great deal more information has come forward.
“This just highlights the struggle of the families and the effort I have had to put in. I was pleased with the reconstruction of what happened to Jeremiah.
“It considered some of the the question that have been raised but there were many that weren't because they had to be very careful not to invite any litigation.
“I now just hope for a date to be set quickly so a judge can have a fresh look at the case.”
The Channel Four Cutting Edge documentary Lost Abroad: The Parents' Story, also features the harrowing story of Bill Hawker, who received a call in the early hours of the morning to say his 22-year-old daughter Lindsay had been found murdered - buried in a bath of sand on a balcony in Tokyo.
The programme will be broadcast at 9pm tomorrow night on Channel Four.
