AN EVENT is being held on Monday to encourage people thinking about standing in the upcoming council elections.
The seminar, hosted by Barnet Council chief executive Nick Walkley, is open to anyone considering standing in May's elections.
The 90 minute session will be run by a member of the Improvement and Development Agency who will talk about how to become a councillor and what the role involves.
It starts at 6.30pm on Monday, March 22 in Committee Room 1 at Hendon Town Hall, The Burroughs. Call 0208 359 2015 or visit http://www.barnet.gov.uk/becoming-a-councillor.htm to book your place.
Nominations open on March 26 and close on April 8 for the local elections.
