A motion was put forward naming Mayor Sadiq Khan an "enemy of the people".
At Barnet Council's full council meeting on Tuesday the motion, put forward by Cllr David Longstaff, names the London Mayor an "enemy of the people" due to his interference with developments in Mill Hill and Grahame Park, decisions over Uber and the decision not to put new trains on the agenda for the Northern Line.
Cllr Arjun Mittra spoke out with an amendment to the motion, saying the title "uses language that is redolent of the divisive - and unsuccessful - tactics deployed by Zac Goldsmith".
A great argument ensued throughout meeting, with Cllr Longstaff saying the title is based in a play by Henry Ibsen, but after various presentations it was voted through with 32 votes for and 30 against, while the amendment was voted down with the 30 votes for and 32 against.
