CAMPAIGNERS against library closures will host a film night showing how one community saved their own service.
A documentary on how a group of people in Wales fought to save Rhydyfelin Library in Pontypridd, South Wales, will be screened in Friern Barnet Library, Friern Barnet Road.
In 2014, Rhydyfelin Library was closed by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, but a judicial review ordered the authority to make a u-turn and re-open it.
People of all ages and from all over the borough, united in March this year to protest against library cuts across Barnet.
On April 4, Barnet councillors voted 31-27 in favour of cuts to the library services and campaigners were left devastated.
The film will show how the non-stop campaigning from a community group helped save their local library.
Entrance fee to the documentary screening will be £3 and will go towards Rhydyfelin Library.
