Elderly people tested their general knowledge during a quiz night between a group of care homes.
Jewish Care’s residential homes from across Barnet and Harrow took part in the Inter Home Quiz Final at the Betty and Asher Loftus Centre, Friern Barnet.
The winning team were from Ruben’s House – who took the trophy home for the second year running after beating the Princess Alexandra Home team quiz from Stanmore.
The Ruben’s House team, who formed a choir called The Rubenettes, opened the show.
Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Mark Shooter, and his wife, Melissa, presented prizes to the participants.
Christina Nmako-Brago, social coordinator at Ruben’s House, said, “The inter-home quiz tournament is a wonderful way for Jewish Care residents to show their intellectual prowess and quick wit.
“The participants really enjoyed the opportunity of meeting other people in homes and we would especially like to thank the Mayor and Mayoress of Barnet as well as Jewish Care vice chairman, Arnold Wagner, for coming to celebrate the success of the finalists and the winning team at Jewish Care’s Rubens House.
“We were inspired to hold the quiz because no matter we support our residents to maintain the hobbies they have always enjoyed in the past, like supper quizzes, to ensure they continue to have experiences that are meaningful to them and continue to maintain their independence.
“Travelling to other homes and meeting residents for the quiz has been a great way to stay engaged and active.”
